Introduction

This programme can allow you to achieve an honours degree in one year of study if you already have a BTEC HND qualification in finance, business, or a related area.

We will build on your existing knowledge as you gain a comprehensive overview of financial management, financial markets, and international banking. These are currently some of the highest profile areas of the international business world. 

At the same time you will continue to develop your core business and management capabilities. Modules include 'Managing Projects' and 'Contemporary Developments in Business and Management'.

A particular feature of Sunderland's programme is a set of workshops in which you discuss case studies and real-life examples in smaller groups in order to develop your skills and understanding.

In today's competitive marketplace, an honours qualification shows that you have a higher level of skills that equip you for a constantly evolving world. With a degree from the University of Sunderland you will be well prepared to apply for rewarding careers in banking and finance. Teaching and Assessment

Teaching methods include lectures, seminars and a special set of smaller-group workshops designed to develop understanding through case-based and organisational examples. Learning is student-focused and encourages the development of practical skills and knowledge.

Assessment is mainly through coursework and a variety of practical as well as academic exercises. These ensure you can relate your understanding to the real world of business and finance.

Certification

Upon the completion of this programme, student will be awarded with the BA (Hons) Degree in Business Management from the University of Sunderland, UK. There will be also opportunities to assess and develop your personal skills ready for the world of work.
