Medicines Management
UCAS Code CID687 Duration 1 years Medicines management makes a major contribution to improving patient care by using the best possible approaches to the selection, prescription, delivery and review of medicines. This Masters has a strong emphasis on clinical aspects of medicines management. You will cover a wide range of pharmacotherapeutic topics including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, dermatology, infections, dermatology, CNS, oncology and palliative care. To get the full benefit of this course, you should already have a degree in pharmacy. Most of our students also have at least one year’s experience in pharmacy practice, although this is not compulsory. This course is similar to our three-year part-time Clinical Pharmacy MSc but it is concentrated into a single year of full-time study. For UK pharmacists, it provides postgraduate qualifications that are often required if you’re looking for promotion to specialist roles in the NHS that are rated as Band 7 and beyond. For students from outside the UK, it is an outstanding opportunity to develop Masters-level knowledge and skills in medicines management/pharmaceutical care from a British university. Sunderland has an excellent reputation for pharmacy. Our Department is ranked #6 in the UK according to The Guardian University Guide 2013. |
