Health and Social Care - Combined Subjects (Major, Dual and Minor) - BA/BSc (Hons)

UCAS Code: L5

Duration: 3 or 4 years

Sunderland is a great place to study health and social care because we focus on applying theory to real-world issues and problems. As part of this we have excellent links with health and community agencies. These include NHS Trusts, local health development units, drug rehabilitation centres, mental health centres, Sure Start initiatives, asylum centres, social services and local schools.

You can choose a major/minor combination, with two thirds of your time on one subject and the remainder on your second subject. Alternatively you can spend equal amounts of time on both subjects by choosing a dual route.

This subject would combine well with other subjects that focus on particular dimensions of health and social care, such as psychology or childhood studies. You could also combine it with a subject such as financial management in order to gain an edge when it comes to applying for management roles in health and social care.

One of the reasons for the high student satisfaction with Combined Subjects Programme is the high degree of personal help and support from the Combined Subjects team. Throughout your degree you will have a personal tutor who will offer support, monitor progress and offer appropriate guidance.
