Politics - Combined Subjects (Major, Dual and Minor) - BA/BSc (Hons)

UCAS Code: L2

Duration: 3 or 4 years

The politics team at the University of Sunderland combine academic and practical insights – for example Dr Simon Henig is currently Leader of Durham County Council.

Politics would combine well with a wide range of other courses. To see what is available please see the Combined Subjects programme. The modules will give you a broader perspective on our world. You will have a better understanding of events that appear in the news and a clearer appreciation of the clash of ideas and cultures that underlie them.

Politics is part of our highly-rated Faculty of Education and Society. According to the 2010 Student Experience Survey, 91% of students in the Faculty would recommend the University of Sunderland to others.

One of the reasons for our high scores in external measures of success is the high degree of personal help and support for students from the Combined Subjects team. Throughout your degree you will have a personal tutor who will offer support, monitor progress and offer appropriate guidance.

You can choose a major/minor combination, with two thirds of your time on one subject and the remainder on your second subject. Alternatively you can spend equal amounts of time on both subjects by choosing a dual route.
