This part-time course is aimed at people who manage or facilitate learning. You might work in the Further Education sector, for a private training provider, or in the training department of a large organisation.

People typically apply for this course after they have been through three phases: first they have become experts in a particular vocational area, then they have become facilitators and teachers in that area, and now they are keen to perform their teaching and training role better or progress to leadership positions within education.Teaching is fully up-to-date with the latest developments and is enriched by Sunderland’s research into education, some of which has been classed as ‘world-leading’ by the Research Assessment Exercise.

In Year 1 you can choose to study in one of four locations: TyneMet College, Bishop Auckland College, or at the University of Sunderland. Year 2 and the Final Year are studied at the University of Sunderland.
