International Tourism and Hospitality Management BSc (Hons)

UCAS Code: CID1088

Duration: 3 years

This course allows you to benefit from Sunderland’s excellence in the teaching of tourism without leaving your home region or country.

The content of the course mirrors the Sunderland-based equivalent course: International Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Sunderland is particularly strong in tourism, with the department not only being ranked fourth in the UK by The Guardian in 2011, but also with staff research being graded as ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.

Courses delivered at study centres share the same ethos, material and approach as those delivered at Sunderland itself. So this course is an outstanding way to gain the benefits of a British education without having to move to Sunderland.

You will gain a broad range of skills and knowledge. As well as covering international tourism, the course also covers hospitality management with core modules such as ‘Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions’.

Recent graduates from our tourism courses have gone on to positions within major tourism companies, economic development agencies, tourism development bodies and local authorities. There are also opportunities in regional and national government. Plus, you'll be equipped for many positions in the wider service sector and for moving on to postgraduate research.
