Graphic Communication BA (Hons)

UCAS Code: W210

Duration: 3 years

Intl Fee: £9,500

Like all our design courses, this course allows you to develop your own style and release your personal creativity. It has core modules in design theories that you will study alongside other design students. It also has practice-based modules that cover graphic design, motion graphics and web design.

Graphic communication has come a long way since cave people first carved pictures to communicate which animals they had hunted. The latest technology gives tremendous opportunities to create graphics that convey messages, sell products and change the way we think.

You will become expert in digital and traditional techniques for graphic communication, covering areas from motion graphics to screen and print based design. We encourage you to fully engage your head, heart and hands in the creative process.

The course is closely linked to the needs of employers. Our academic team have excellent connections within the graphic communication industry. We also operate our own in-house professional studio, called Hothouse, where you can work on projects for real-world clients.

Sunderland is ranked in the top 30 universities in the UK for student satisfaction with Art and Design courses, according to The Guardian University Guide 2012.
