This preparatory course offers a way onto the BioPharmaceutical Science course for people who do not meet the requirements for direct entry. If you pass the preparatory course, you will be able to start your degree studies.

Alternatively, there may be an opportunity to use this Joint Scheme of Extended Programmes Science - BioPharmaceutical Science pathway preparatory course as a route on to our Master in Pharmacy (MPharm) course. There are a limited number of places available for progressiononto the Mpharm route and to be eligible for consideration you will need to achieve at least 60% in all the modules, satisfy the Fitness to Practice requirements and complete an interview successfully.

The entry requirement for this preparatory course is an A level (or equivalent) in chemistry and three passes at GCSE grade C, including Maths and English, or the equivalent.

This compares with the 260 UCAS points required for direct entry on to the BioPharmaceutical Science BSc (Hons) programme, and the 320 - 300 UCAS points required for direct entry on to the MPharm.

The first year of this course is based at Sunderland College. The College is a world-class provider of education and its science curriculum has been awarded Grade 1 status. You will receive a thorough grounding in chemistry, biology and physiology as well as covering essential maths topics.
