Business Computing BA (Hons)
UCAS Code: G423 Duration: 3 or 4 years This course forms part of our suite of computing courses that prepare you for our region’s thriving software and ICT sector. The North East ranks as no.2 region in the UK for the number of software companies, second only to London, so there are excellent opportunities for exciting careers. This course will help you understand the nature of business and business organisations, computers and software, problem solving and software design and how these all fit together to achieve business success. The course covers all the fundamentals of computing including web applications, database systems, programming and software development. Distinctive business modules include ‘Marketing Management’, ‘Organisational and Human Resource Development’ and ‘Operations Management’. We encourage our students to undertake a year-long placement between the second and final years, although it is not compulsory. It’s a great opportunity to get paid to put your learning into practice and to extend your experience. Throughout the course you will have the support of up-to-date teaching and ultra high-tech facilities. We provide professional-level developer software and advanced hardware through accreditations with Microsoft, Cisco and other major companies. |
