Computing FdSc
UCAS Code: I100 Duration: 2 years This full-time two-year course is suitable for people who have not previously studied computing. We welcome students from a wide range of backgrounds. The course will equip you to work in software development, perhaps as a website developer, database programmer or in IT support. There is a strong emphasis on the use of software engineering methods as well as in developing effective team-working skills. By the end of the course you will be confident in designing, producing and testing software that meets the needs of users. You will be expert in languages and packages such as HTML, Java, PHP, Oracle, Access and Dreamweaver. On successfully completing the course you will be awarded a Foundation Degree that is accredited by the University of Sunderland. If you wish, you will be able to ‘top-up’ to a full honours degree by transferring to the Applied Business Computing (Top-up) or Computer Systems Engineering (Top-up). Both of these top-up courses involve one further year of study at the University of Sunderland. |
